French toast with caramelized poached apples. A sweet way to start your sweet morning. Serves 3 For the caramelized apples – 3 large apples – 3 tbsp sugar (or you can add more to your taste, I made my own subtle sweetness) – 50g butter – 7 tbsp (105ml) water For the sweet french toast – 3 large eggs – 5 tbsp (75ml) milk – 1 tsp cinnamon – Butter and olive oil for cooking – 6 thick slices of bread. For the apples Peel and dice the apples. Leave the skin on. – Put sugar in a saucepan (there are no rules here, you can go as light as me or a sweeter one by doubling the amount) let the sugar melt. A melted part in apples and pour in. The sugar will harden, that's okay! It will re-melt once the apples are warmed. Saute the apples until they soften slightly. – Add the butter and mix. - Finally add the water. Lower the heat and let them simmer until the apples are completely soft and half of the water has evaporated. – Turn off the heat. For the sweet French toast. - Put all the ingredients in a wide bowl and beat well. – Put a piece of butter and oil in a saucepan, the oil will prevent the butter from burning. Heat on medium heat. – Dip both sides of the bread slice into the egg mixture, but do not soak. – Place the bread slices in the pan and cook each side until golden brown. To assemble – Place two slices of bread on a plate, spread some caramelized apples on top and finish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Good appetite .
